Ms. Pollyanna Gorman
Pollyanna Gorman, has made her name in the Orange County music world as an accomplished performer and is one of the first women conductors for community groups in the area. Originally from Fullerton, CA she moved to North Carolina with her family and lived in Germany for several years as the daughter of an Army Sargent. Returning to North Carolina she received a Bachelor of Science in Music Education from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke where she was President of Sigma Alpha Iota, a member of MENC, was on the Dean’s List and was chosen for Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.
Upon returning to California, Pollyanna began performing with many community groups as Principal French Horn remaining with Golden West College where she honed her skills as Assistant Conductor from 1992-2002. Performing locally as well as across Europe, she has continued to perform with the Orange County Symphony, Orange County Wind Symphony, Symphonic Winds of the Pacific, Principal Horn and Associate Conductor of the Orange Symphonic Band, and Principal Horn/Winds Coach/Personnel Manager and Associate Conductor of the Southern California Philharmonic. She also performs with many small ensembles as well as leading her own Pollytechnic Brass Quintet. Pollyanna can be heard as principal French Horn on the soundtrack of “With Great Power” – A Documentary on Stan Lee.
