The Resident Symphony Orchestra of the City of Anaheim

Preconcert letter

Message to subscribers, friends and supporters,
August, 2013

On August 25, 2013 we will celebrate the Opening Night of the 2013-2014 concert season at Servite Auditorium as we welcome the 3 winners of the Piano Concerto Competition to our stage to perform their winning Concerto Selections with our own OCS musicians. This exciting program embraces the ongoing mission we value in combining brilliance of performance and music education.

We welcome season subscribers (most returning and many new) who will find packets of 4 tickets for each of the scheduled concerts held at the Will Call desk open at 5:00 PM on concert night.

Included with this mailing is the form detailing the ad campaign underway for the concert program book designed for the 2013-2014 season. The deadline has been extended. Please take a moment to consider inviting someone you do business with to support the symphony by placing an ad. The book will be presented to concert patrons at the Gala, each of nine concerts and will also be included in our PR marketing that reaches the leaders in the arts, business, government, charitable giving and foundation communities.

Now to further address a most compelling announcement! Starting immediately Fall, 2013  the Orange County Symphony in collaboration with the Anaheim City School District will be putting instrument instruction in designated pilot project schools in the district. Dr. Linda Wagner has successfully implemented similar programs in 2 prior communities. A invitation to the public is issued for donations of used orchestra instruments including violins, cellos, wind, brass and percussion, or sponsorship of new. We are also looking for sponsorship donation for repair, maintenance. You first heard about this in June and we are experiencing gratifying response.  A call or e-mail message to the symphony office will make arrangements for instrument pick up. (714) 778-0314 E-mail: A donation form will be provided for acknowledgement and may be used based on consultation with your tax professional.

Our Outreach programs offer live concert experiences free to children, families, seniors, military personnel, seniors and many groups such as the Blind Veterans of America.

I continue to speak regularly during the public comments segment of Anaheim City Council meetings, and welcome invitations to any group you may know of where I might find a platform to visit and  further spread the message that we bring beautiful music of the highest performance standard to local concert audiences on a regularly scheduled basis at affordable cost….and free parking..   Needless to say…the tried and true word of mouth proves again and again to be the very most effective form of marketing ever known. Every subscriber will continue to have 4 tickets to each concert. As those tickets are all used, we will see significant increases in concert attendance.

Your ongoing support makes it possible. We are all part of a team.

Together we make it happen!
