The Resident Symphony Orchestra of the City of Anaheim

August Open Letter

Message to subscribers, friends and supporters,

On Sunday, August 30th we celebrate the start of our 12th year in bringing an annual concert season to Anaheim and greater north Orange County. The new season promises exciting experiences in classical music performed by both the Orange County Symphony and the Orange County Winds Symphony. You are invited to visit the OCS FACEBOOK page ("likes" are appreciated) and our web site: for announcements, photos and the latest details on dates and programming as well as archived press releases, reviews and spotlights on conductors and performers

Sunday's Opening Night concert showcases 4 remarkable young musicians who have won many competitions throughout the southland. These talented youth are the stars of tomorrow. This third annual collaboration with the California Association of Professional Music Teachers continues to provide the opportunity each year for the competition winners to join our OCS musicians in presenting the evening concert.

The OCS/Anaheim City School District (ACSD) Orchestra Program thrives as many of our roster musicians teach after school classes each week in 14 local elementary schools. It has been decades since music was a part of this school district and now the district is hiring credentialed teachers to add to the day time curriculum as well. We have started something very special that benefits all Anaheim students and their families. Our music students are encouraged to attend OCS scheduled concerts with their family as our guests. OCS is proud to partner with ACSD in this exciting journey.

2015-2016 OCS season ticket packets await for those who have joined our treasured family of subscribers and those who sign up on Sunday. Don't forget to stop past the Will Call table to claim your season tickets.

It is only with your help that we are able to bring this gift of music to our community. You are a critical part of a very special team. Thank you for all you do. Together we make it happen!

Rich Blessings
